Tim Blanchard and Jaylec clean up at Formula Ford championships.

In his second year driving in the national championship and only his first year driving the new Jaylec-sponsored Mygale, Tim Blanchard has won the Australian Formula Ford championship with a resounding round victory at Phillip Island in his home state of Victoria.

After recovering from a slow start and leading the championship for most of the season, Tim finished 3^rd in the first race at Phillip Island while the only other driver capable of winning the championship, Rising Star Ashley Walsh, finished out of the points, to allow Tim an insurmountable lead going into the second race.

With the pressure off and the championship in the bag, Tim’s focus was on showing his talent, which he did with easy victories in the second and third race.  It was a proud moment on the podium for Tim, with dad John Blanchard, CEO of CoolDrive Distribution looking on as Tim held the championship trophy high.

A fantastic end to the first season for Jaylec Racing, you can look forward to bigger and better things from Tim, Jaylec Racing and CoolDrive in 2008.
